Recent Employment

Front End Web Developer | Neto Ecommerce

March 2017 - Present

As a Front End Web Developer at Neto I worked on a large range of projects including: designing websites using Figma and other graphical software, coding up ecommerce websites based on exisiting designs, scoping and quoting for custom work, fixing bugs, and implementing website tweaks. During my time at Neto I created 2 premium website themes that are now sold on the Neto webstore - both significant coding works completed in my own time.

Freelance Web Developer

January 2016 - March 2017

While honing my skills as a developer I operated in a freelance capacity under the name of Cake Web Solutions. I primarily developed static HTML/CSS/JS websites or used Wordpress if the client required a more complex setup. Through freelancing I greatly refined my web development skills as well as gaining valuable knowlege about client management. I also had the opportunity to work with excellent clients like Ballistic Beer and the New Groove Jazz Ensemble.

Notable Projects

Github Portfolio | Node.js + Express + React

https://github.com/bloycey/github-portfolio

This project uses the Github API to organise repositories in a more intuitive way. It turns a users github page into an interactive portfolio. In creating this app I utilised a Node.js server to keep my Github credentials secure and used express for routing and as a webserver. On the front end I used React along with React Router to display the data quickly and neatly. This project greatly improved my skills in building APIs, working with existing APIs and managing the flow of data between the server side and the front end.

Product Watch | Node.js + Express + React + Local Storage

https://github.com/bloycey/product-watch

This web-app allows users to watch products online and track pricing changes. These changes are displayed in a graph along with other important product information including descriptions and images. The Node.js server does most of the work here in scraping the websites periodically and looking for changes. The front end is handled using React and the product data is persisted using HTML5 LocalStorage.

Brave Theme | B@SE + CSS + HTML + Javascript/jQuery

https://github.com/bloycey/brave2

This website theme created for Neto Ecommerce is a large scale, fully featured, ecommerce theme. This theme is currently in use by many Neto customers and has received great feedback.
